The Afrimerican Culture Initiative Inc. (ACI) is a Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to engineering restorative bridges in underserved multicultural communities through research, education, and technology. Founded in 2015, ACI is committed to addressing the lasting impacts of Redlining and Urban Renewal by fostering unity, repairing harm, and promoting inclusivity.We specialize in Restorative Project Management (RPM) and Cultural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (CDEI), hosting events and programs that empower communities to reclaim and rebuild their cultural and economic identities.Our events include:Educational Tours and Workshops: Highlighting Boston’s rich cultural history, such as the Once Upon a Time in Nubian Square walking tour and the Roadmap to a Beloved Community series.Youth Empowerment Initiatives: Through the Afrimerican Academy, we provide job opportunities and mentorship for young people, preparing them to lead community-focused projects.Cultural Celebrations: Events like the Lives In Me Heritage Festival honor and preserve African American culture.Media and Storytelling Projects: Including the Redline Narratives documentary and the youth-led Chop It Up Podcast.ACI’s mission is to build Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Beloved Community by promoting equitable urban design, restorative justice, and sustainable development.
