Hippie Haight-Ashbury and True Crime

Hippie Haight-Ashbury and True Crime

Overview

Explore one of the darkest and most fascinating times in San Francisco history.

There is no place on earth quite like the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco.

Known as the birthplace of the Summer of Love and forever affiliated with the resulting counterculture, the Haight was a refuge for hippies, runaways, and LGBTQ+ folks.

It is also the place where hundreds of murders have taken place- over 150 in 1968 alone.
