2026 Annual Firefly Gathering, July 7-12
A transformative earthskills gathering in the Blue Ridge Mountains with 300+ classes, music, community, and nature for all ages.
Each summer hundreds of people come together in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina for the Annual Firefly Gathering, one of the largest and most diverse earthskills gatherings in the country. Skilled instructors, artists, musicians, speakers and thinkers co-create this transformative experience to expand our capacity to live well with one another and our beloved Earth.
With over 300 hundred classes to choose from, days at the Gathering are spent enjoying nature through classes like plant walks, herbal medicine, fire starting, woodworking, metalsmithing, farm animal care, basketry, and so much more. Classes explore nature reverence, self-healing work, mutual aid, community development, and functional hands-on activities. Deepen your relationship with the wisdom and rhythms of nature, and explore the creative expression within yourself and others through the Bizarre Bazaar craft fair, drum circles, live band performances and parades. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome at Firefly, with engaging youth programs and intentional camp options to support the experience of all people. People of the Global Majority and LGBTQIA+ Communities are welcome and supported.
Evenings at the Firefly Gathering are filled with creative expression, as we settle or celebrate, letting the learning from the day sink in. Connect with the earthskills community while enjoying live music, poetry, stories, and dancing under the stars. For many, attending The Firefly Gathering is a life-changing experience, inspiring them to return year after year. Join us this year, July 7-12, 2026, at the Wild Human Preserve in Green Mountain, NC. One-day, three-day, and five-day passes are available to suit your schedule!
