2026 Turtle Walk (BHI Conservancy Member Only Event)
As a thank you to our members, the Bald Head Island Conservancy offers Turtle Walks as an opportunity to (hopefully) see sea turtles!
Join Us for a Turtle Walk - A Special Members-Only Experience!
As a thank-you to our members, we’re excited to invite you to take part in one of the Conservancy’s most memorable programs—our Turtle Walks!
The evening begins at the Conservancy’s Fleming Environmental Education Center with a short, engaging presentation about sea turtles and our nationally recognized Sea Turtle Protection Program. Afterward, you'll head to the beach with our staff to await updates from our Sea Turtle Team about possible nesting or hatching activity.*
Turtle Walks are conducted under a special permit granted by the state, which limits group size to help protect these federally protected species. As such, space is extremely limited and available by reservation only.
🟢 How it works:
- Access codes for Turtle Walks are provided with your membership.
- Each person attending must have their own individual pass and register using your access code.
- If you reserve a spot and do not attend, your pass will be forfeited and cannot be reused.
Thank you for helping us protect Bald Head Island’s sea turtles—and enjoy this unforgettable opportunity to see conservation in action!
*Please note: Sea turtle activity is not guaranteed, as it depends on natural conditions.
If you are a member and do not have your access code, please check your spam folder for an email from development@bhic.org. If you need access codes, please email: development@bhic.org.
