Overview

Pack your bags! Pack your pony! And get ready for four days and three nights of horse riding, adventure, creativity, and fun!

Campers will enjoy a variety of horse related sports, explore their artistic side with hands-on art projects, enjoy a scenic trail ride, and learn new horse skills in a variety of workshops. Evenings will bring campfires, games, and time to connect with friends. It’s the perfect way to make the most of summer break—filled with energy, creativity, and memories that will last long after camp ends!

  • Camp Registration fee of $250
  • Open to youth ages: 9-18 years old (Age as of January 1, 2026)
  • 25 Spots Available
  • Registration open until May 2, 2026 or until all spots are filled.
  • Cloverbud Participation (Ages 5–8 as of January 1, 2026):
    Cloverbud-aged youth are welcome to attend and participate in daily camp activities; however, they are not permitted to stay overnight. A 1:1 adult-to-youth ratio is required for all Cloverbud participants.
  • Horse Requirement:
    Horses are not provided for this camp. All participants must bring their own horse, tack, equipment, feed, and necessary supplies for the duration of the camp.

June 15, 2026. Arrival Day!

Participants will drop off their horses at the Alamo Arena. They will feed and water their horses at this time. Parent/Guardians will then drive the youth to the camp to check in with 4-H Staff by 5:30pm.

June 15- First Evening at 4-H Overnight Horse Camp!

4-H Horse Camp Participants will be fed dinner, explore the camp, learn camp expectations and rules, meet their fellow camp-mates, play some fun Horse Quiz Bowl Games, and get settled into their cabin for the week's exciting activities.

June 16- Equitation, Control, Patterns, Foundation Skills

4-H Campers will wake up at 6AM to head to the arena to take care of their horses feed and water. They will then return to camp for breakfast and to break into their groups for the day. After breakfast, campers will return to the arena to warm up their horses and head into their sessions on horseback. The participants will have a full day of lessons and activities on horseback along with a picnic lunch and then will head back to the camp for crafts and free time. They will eat their dinner at the camp and then head back to the arena for more horse fun and taking care of their horses for the evening. Upon arrival to the camp, participants will enjoy campfire games and s'mores as a group.
