Join Rise East and the 40x40 Council at Lodestar Academy for the 40x40 Neighborhood Peace Committees Kickoff!

This community-centered event is dedicated to raising awareness about local resources while building deeper trust among neighbors. We are excited to introduce a new, meaningful approach to intervening in and addressing interpersonal conflict within our neighborhood.

This day is also a celebration of our incredible Peace Committee members who have been leading the way and doing the vital work on the ground. Come out to support, connect, and enjoy a vibrant day with your community!

What is a Peace Committee?

Peace Committees are teams of local residents trained in non-violent conflict resolution. They step up by listening to neighbors, calming disagreements, and guiding peaceful solutions—right here in East Oakland’s 40x40 area (Seminary to 105th, MacArthur to the Bay).
