This engaging, instructor-led course takes a comprehensive look at the laws and regulations governing HUD Multifamily Housing programs. Through clear explanations, real-world examples, and interactive exercises, participants will build confidence in understanding how to maintain compliance — and why doing so is essential to the long-term success of HUD-assisted properties.

Monitoring and maintaining HUD compliance can be one of the most detailed and challenging aspects of affordable housing management. During this training, our expert instructor breaks down complex topics into practical, easy-to-understand concepts, including:

• Determining income eligibility and verification procedures
• Conducting rent calculations and annual/interim recertifications
• Understanding student eligibility requirements
• Occupancy standards
• Applying HUD’s key compliance rules to everyday scenarios

By the end of this course, participants will have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to ensure accurate, consistent, and fully compliant HUD program operations.

Note: There may be areas of training where an overview will be provided. Areas that are not covered in full detail during the training will be provided as supplemental information.

This training will be conducted post-HOTMA and will cover HOTMA requirements only. Pre-HOTMA requirements will not be addressed.

HUD ACCREDITED COMPLIANCE EXPERT (ACE)

Participants will have the opportunity to take the US Housing Consultants’ HUD Accredited Compliance Expert (ACE) exam. This certification recognizes affordable housing professionals who demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HUD Multifamily Housing compliance — including household eligibility, rent and income and asset calculations, verification procedures, and other applicable program requirements.

Professionals who earn this designation have proven their expertise in applying HUD rules and regulations to real-world scenarios. They possess a deep understanding of how to accurately determine household eligibility, calculate rents, ensure proper documentation, and maintain compliance with HUD’s multifamily housing standards.

Note: ACE Exams must be taken within 7 calendar days after being assigned as content, and questions may be updated.
