• Understand how AI has evolved and why it is transforming modern policing, investigations, and public safety operations
• Identify common AI terminology, capabilities, and limitations encountered in law enforcement tools and vendor products
• Use prompt engineering techniques to obtain reliable, accurate, and neutral results from generative AI systems

Applications and Tools

• Apply AI to real-world policing scenarios including crime pattern analysis, trend detection, intelligence support, and risk identification
• Use AI-assisted investigative tools to support OSINT collection, digital evidence review, information synthesis, and lead development
• Evaluate and safely use immediately accessible AI tools that agencies can deploy without advanced technical expertise

Risks, Ethics, and Policy

• Recognize risks associated with AI use including bias, misidentification, hallucinations, and over-reliance on automated outputs
• Identify high-risk AI behaviors and practices that should be avoided in investigations, reporting, and testimony
• Understand privacy, civil rights, and ethical considerations related to government and law enforcement AI use
• Navigate key legal and policy frameworks governing AI in policing, including Florida-specific laws and guidance
• Draft court-defensible statements explaining AI use in reports and testimony while preserving officer judgment and credibility
