The Appalachian Mountain Club's New York/North Jersey Chapter is proud to announce our 2026 Harriman Takeover Weekend for 20s and 30s!**PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTE ON BUYING TICKETS**<ul><li>If you are buying an individual ticket, such as an individual bunk or a Saturday day ticket, your meals are included with the ticket.</li><li>If you are buying any group ticket such as a cabin or tent platform (any ticket that reads "Up to X People"), please buy meal ticket add-ons according to the number of people in your group. For example, if you are booking a whole cabin with 3 people, book the cabin and add on 3 meal tickets.</li></ul>We’re returning for another weekend long bash at the beautiful Corman Harriman Outdoor Center (CHOC) in Haverstraw, NY, approximately 37 miles north of New York City. Come join us for some spectacular hiking, rock climbing, swimming, paddling/kayaking, bonfires, and meeting other folks who are passionate about the outdoors ! More details on activities to come.

AccommodationsAccommodations are in newly renovated cabins, or camping on tent platforms/3-sided shelters, or backcountry tent sites.If you are registering for a spot at one of the tent platforms or 3-sided shelters, the MAXIMUM size tent you are allowed to bring is a 2-person tent. The only exception to this is if you register and book both spots on the same platform. Each spot for a tent platform or 3-sided shelter can accommodate two people - an entire tent platform or 3-sided shelter can fit a max of four people.Note: For any dietary restrictions please notify organizers in advance. CHOC can accommodate most dietary restrictions, but would need to be notified more than a week in advance.Note: Alcohol is not permitted to be sold at the CHOC. But those who are 21+ are welcome to bring their own beverages to enjoy. Please be responsible. I have never had an issue at any of the trips I have done in years past so let's keep that tradition going.Note: Please be mindful and diligent about removing garbage and foodstuffs from all public areas. There are wild animals and bears in the area that will be attracted by food. Chipmunks and other small critters have been known to chew through backpacks and other light containers to get to food. There are bear boxes at camp sites to safely store foodstuffs.

TransportationWe encourage everyone to carpool or to take mass transit. You can take the train from NYC to Sloatsburg. The camp provides a shuttle service from the Sloatsburg station to the camp. More details regarding the shuttle service will be provided.

What should I bring?<ul><li>First and foremost, pack the proper gear and equipment you'll need for the activities you plan on participating in! </li><li>Bring a tent (if you're camping), sleeping bag or sheets, pillow, towels, yoga/hiking/swimming/paddling gear, sunscreen, bug spray, headlamp, hat, water bottle, and personal toiletries. </li><li>Sheets and towels may be rented from the camp on a first come first serve basis. There are loaner tents and sleeping pads available at camp, there are only a few available and can be rented at the main office. </li><li>BYO adult beverages and snacks to share if you wish!</li></ul>

Cancellation PolicyReservations canceled more than 14 days in advance receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Reservations canceled 7 days in advance are entitled to 1/2 of their order refunded. Less than 7 days in advance are NOT refundable. If the AMC must cancel a program, registrants will be notified and all fees will be refunded. Normal weather will not cancel this event.
