Andy Rich came to F&M in 2025 as its 17th president — bringing with him a career built entirely around the belief that young people are the ones who move communities and societies forward. Before F&M, he served as Dean of the Colin Powell School at the City College of New York, where he grew the school by 40 percent, launched eight new fellowship programs, built a Public Service Career Hub, and raised more than $85 million in new investments for students. Before that, he led the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation and the Roosevelt Institute, a national think tank tied to the legacy of FDR.

A Truman Scholar himself, Andy holds a doctorate in political science from Yale and has spent his career at the intersection of higher education, public service, and leadership development. He is deeply rooted in Lancaster — serving on the boards of the Lancaster County Community Foundation, Lancaster County STEM Alliance, and the Economic Development Company Lancaster.

In this session, Andy will share what he believes about the power of education, what it takes to lead with purpose at every stage of a career, and why he believes in this generation of scholars more than any other.
