Art Exhibition! On the Periphery: Punk, Process, and Freedom

The Art ColonyChicago, IL
Overview

Join as at The Art Colony during The Alley's 50th Anniversary Block Party! Visit punk, goth, and outsider artwork from over 50 artists!

the world may be mad, but we still have art. where there is freedom in expression, punk reassures. where there are outsiders looking in, an equalizer of human creativity sharpens, etches, and deliberately paints a unique path toward a horizon beyond oppression. on june 14th, 2026, gather inside the art colony (2630 West Fletcher) 11-8pm with the work of over 50 artists who demonstrate process as a punctuated response to these times.

Celebrate 50 Years of The Alley

Founded in 1976, long before the internet, smartphones and AI, a new subculture firmly planted spiked roots into the underground business model.. It blossomed with every youthful music enthusiast who found new sturdiness in the garments that served as armor. Enjoy the Block Party on Fletcher 11am-8pm and reminisce with us.
