Autumn Buttercream Florals Beginner Cake Decorating Class

About this class:

Welcome to one of our most beautiful seasonal classes! Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes, LLC for a cozy, autumn-inspired cake decorating experience where you will learn the art of buttercream floral piping from scratch—no experience necessary!

In this hands-on beginner class, you will learn how to:

• Apply a crumb coat and textured buttercream to the cake like a pro!
• Pipe stunning buttercream florals including roses, dahlias, sunflowers, and leaves in rich autumn tones
• Build a gorgeous floral arrangement on your cake using layering and color techniques
• Work with fall-inspired color palettes — burnt orange, deep burgundy, golden yellow, and earthy green

All skill levels are welcome! Whether you are picking up a piping bag for the very first time or looking to expand your decorating skills, this class is designed to guide you step by step in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. You will leave with a stunning autumn-themed cake that you created yourself — ready to show off, share, or enjoy!

Students may bring their own apron. A cake box will be provided for the participants to take their cake home.

Meet Your Instructor:

Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia where she started baking at the age of six. Dawn holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and has competed in many local baking events and in 2018 she competed on Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. All The Details:

• Age Level: 13+
• Skill Level: Beginner
• All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
• We will provide a box for you to take your cake home in
• The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
• If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
• Class requires a minimum of 4 students and there is a maxiumum of 8. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
• Class will run approximately 3 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.

Cancellation Policy:

Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
