Aviary & Owl Exhibit

Join us for an exciting and hands-on afternoon at the North Chagrin Nature Center!

We will meet at the Nature Center at 1:00 PM and begin by exploring the indoor exhibits together, learning fun facts about local wildlife and habitats. After our indoor tour, we will head outside to meet a Cleveland Metroparks naturalist for a special live animal presentation featuring an owl and a bat. Participants will learn about these fascinating nocturnal animals, their adaptations, behaviors, and the important roles they play in our local ecosystem.

Following the live animal presentation, participants will take part in a 15-minute interactive ecosystem game. Through a hands-on activity, children will explore how owls, bats, plants, insects, and other wildlife are connected in a food web, helping them better understand predator-prey relationships and ecosystem balance.

We will then gather under the pavilion for a simple, take-home adaptation craft where participants can creatively reinforce what they’ve learned about animal traits and survival strategies.

This family-friendly program is designed for children ages 8–13 and requires a parent or guardian to attend.

Our goal is to provide an engaging, educational experience that encourages curiosity, environmental awareness, and a deeper appreciation for local wildlife.

What to Bring
- Water bottle
- Closed-toed shoes with no holes (tennis shoes or hiking boots required; no sandals, Crocs, or similar footwear)
- Sunblock
- Hat or sunglasses (recommended)
