How does AYP Match work?

During the event, you will be placed into a series of 5-min 1:1 conversations with other participants.  After the event, submit the list of people you'd be interested in connecting with again.  Where there is a mutual yes, AYP will share contact information so you can continue the conversation.

I am shy.  Will this still work for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The format makes it easier for shy participants because the platform handles introductions, and the conversations are short. You do not have to walk up to anyone, and you will receive conversation prompts if you need help getting started.

Question 3

Do I need to turn my camera on?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For the safety and comfort of all participants, cameras are required during one on one conversations. This helps ensure that everyone is speaking with a real person who is fully present and engaged.

Question 4

What safeguards are in place to protect my privacy and safety?

Accepted Answer

Participants may use a creative identifier in place of their full name during the event.  Each person chooses what personal details they share during conversations.  Contact information is shared only when there is a mutual yes after the event.  Cameras must be on during 1:1 conversations.

Question 5

What if I register and then cannot attend?

Accepted Answer

Because space is limited, participants are asked to contact AYP as soon as possible if plans change so that someone on the waitlist may be offered a spot when appropriate.  However, no refunds will be issued.

Question 6

Which ticket type should I select?

Accepted Answer

Ticket types are distinguished by gender and age.  Select the age bracket that YOU are in.  If you qualify for two brackets, select the one that you would like your matches to be in.
