Bachata Dance Workshop at the SFBC
Introduction to Bachata: a joyful alternative to sitting meditation!
We’re delighted to welcome Supernova for this special two-hour workshop – an all-levels introduction to bachata footwork and partner dancing, along with discussion of gender inclusivity, spoon theory, access needs, and trauma-informed dance practices.
More than just a dance class, this is an opportunity for community-building and finding joy through movement. Social dancing offers a unique way to connect without words through the lead-and-follow relationship, while building trust and practicing clear communication and consent on the dance floor.
Please dress comfortably for dancing (workout clothes are not necessary). To help care for the meditation – and dance! – room, we ask that shoes not be worn inside.
The SFBC is a drug- and alcohol-free space.
Pre-booking required here: https://sfbuddhistcenter.org/events/bachata-night-at-the-sfbc/
Ticket range: $25–35. Proceeds will be divided between the SFBC to support all our classes, and the instructor.
