Rocky Mountain Conservancy's Education Team directly supports the organization's mission by offering a wide range of educational opportunities, focused on building a love of wild places and inspiring people to act to preserve them. Educational offerings include half-day, full-day, and multi-day adult programs led by expert instructors, as well as scenic ecology bus tours for the whole family, guided hikes, and special programs just for kids and families.

A collection of courses created by the Rocky Mountain Conservancy to connect women to conservation efforts through educational experiences. Bettie Courses are inspired by the work of Beatrice “Bettie” Willard, a foundational instructor at the Conservancy.

Guided Hikes

Join us for a women's hike to Bridal Veil Falls! The hike will take you to a less traveled part of Rocky Mountain National Park. We will begin at Cow Creek Trailhead and hike past the historic McGraw Ranch. The trail follows Cow Creek, giving you glimpses at other smaller cascades along the way to Bridal Veil. The first part of the trail passes through open fields full of wildflowers where elk are often seen. Eventually, the trail heads into the woods, where it begins to climb in elevation, rewarding you with a stunning waterfall that drops out of a craggy cliff.Distance and Elevation Gain: This hike is about 6 miles with 1,000 feet of elevation gain and loss.Please note these hikes are meant to be an inclusive and fun way to get outside! We will be hiking at a pace that is comfortable for a large group. Everyone should feel like they can chat on the trail! This typically means a 1-1.5 mile per hour pace on the way up and a 1.5-2 mile per hour pace on the way down. The focus of these hikes is community building and connection and we intentionally move at a moderate pace.The Conservancy provides transportation to and from the trailhead. Registration includes all Park fees and permits.Who: This program is intended for women ages 16 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.When: Thursday, June 12th from 8:00am - 2:30pm. Ending time is approximate and depends on traffic conditions and the pace of the group. Please leave yourself some free time after the hike in case we get back later than expected.Where: We will meet at the Estes Park Events Complex parking lot off of Manford Ave in Estes Park, and travel together to the trailhead in Conservancy vehicles. However, if weather or road conditions become unsafe, Rocky Mountain Conservancy will cancel the program.
