Guided Hikes

We offer many kinds of guided, themed educational walks and social hiking for adults. All have fun and knowledgeable guides.

Difficulty: Moderate/EasyAppropriate for: Beginning and Intermediate BirdersLeader: Tinie Noordzij and Julia OsborneAbout Julia and Tinie: Tinie and Julia are members of Winchester Trails, which provides nature walks for elementary school children in Winchester. Both have extensive training in natural history.About the Walk: Join us as we explore trails on the west side of the North Reservoir, looking for returning migrant birds, such as warblers, vireos, and towhees. We’ll also keep an eye out for resident species, such as nuthatches and pileated woodpeckers. We'll pay particular attention to the habitats and plant communities that attract the various kinds of birds.This walk is for beginning and intermediate birders. Please bring binoculars if you have them.We’ll meet at the north end of the North Reservoir, next to the tennis courts across from 15 Appalachian Road. Parking is available on Hillcrest Parkway, off Highland Avenue.Steady rain or stormy winds cancel.** Please be mindful and register if you are absolutely able to attend this walk.
