I'm a barista, but I've never competed before. Can I compete in Brewlette?

Yes! Brewlette is open to  all barista competitors that are interested in competition - whether it is your first time or fortieth time competing. Brewlette is open to anyone who wants to throw their hat in the ring.  There is no better time than the present!

Question 2

Will there be brewing gear provided or should I bring my own?

Accepted Answer

Competitors are welcome to bring their own gear. There will be a Brewlette Library available  to competitors that includes a variety of brewing devices from AeroPress, Hario, and Slow Pour Supply. There will be drippers, scales, kettles, and carafes etc.

How can I register?

Registration will open here on Eventbrite on Saturday, February 7th at 1pm EST. Competitors interested in competing will need an Access Code to unlock tickets.

Where can I find the Registration Access Code?

The Registration Access Code can be found in the Rules and Regulations and on the Counter Culture Coffee  Instagram Page. This is required to unlock registration. If you are having a hard time finding this code, you can reach out to education@counterculturecoffee.com for assistance.

Can people watch Brewlette?

Yes! Doors open to the public at 12:30pm. All are welcome to join! Invite your friends, family, co-workers, and customers! The more the merrier.

Are coaches allowed?

Coaches are not permitted at the competition during Calibration or Practice but coaches are welcome to join when doors open at 12:30pm.

There are 13 spots open in Brewlette.

When does registration open?

Accepted Answer

Registration opens at 1pm EST on Saturday, February 7th. Set an alarm so you don't miss your chance to sign up!

Question 9

What is TDS??

Accepted Answer

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids. This is a way to quantify the strength of a brewed coffee. We use a tool called a refractometer to measure TDS. We will be using a refractometer during Brewlette.
