BZP Riverside: Biking Moai with Riverside Light Parade
Ten weeks. One hour a week. Two wheels and a community that will make you fall in love with Riverside all over again.
In 2022, Rodney, John, and Gigi had a thought that changed Riverside forever: nearby cities were doing it, so why not us?
What started as a passion for bike life and community has grown into one of Riverside's most breathtaking sights; up to 400 riders lighting up the streets every month, with spectators stopping in their tracks to film something they've never quite seen before.
That's the heart of the Riverside Light Parade. And now they're bringing that same magic to the Blue Zones Project.
Join us for the Blue Zones Project Biking Moai, hosted by Riverside Light Parade, a 10-week Saturday morning ride through some of the most iconic parts of our city. This is a relaxed, easy-paced ride designed for everyone, whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just dusting off your bike for the first time in years. No race, no rush, just good people, fresh air, and the kind of effortless conversation that only happens when you're rolling through a city you love.
Inspired by the Okinawan tradition of Moai, the lifelong social circles behind some of the world's longest-living communities, this group is proof that the best friendships are built in motion.
