Learn essential cake decorating skills and piping techniques, then apply them to create your own professionally finished buttercream cake.
Learn the foundations of cake decorating and several piping techniques, including shells, stars, zig-zag and rosettes. The first ½ of this lesson will concentrate on mastering basic skills and proper technique. The second part of the class will focus on applying the skills you learned to create a professional looking textured buttercream cake. Filling, frosting piping, we will do it all.
You Will Learn:
- Learn how to Crumb Coat
- Work with American Buttercream
- Learn various piping techniques including; shells, stars, zig-zags, ruffles & rosettes
- Work with multiple piping tips
- Learn how to apply these techniques to your cake.
NY Cake Academy classes are held in our Manhattan flagship at 118 W 22nd St. All supplies and materials included, but if you require any special accommodations please don't hesitate to contact us at custom@nycakeacademy.com. Our classes are hands-on, interactive experiences. So, please dress accordingly. We recommend wearing casual clothing that you won’t mind getting a little sugar on, and flat comfortable shoes. Open toed shoes and sandals are not recommended as this is a safety concern when working within a kitchen. Long hair should be tied back.
