What size kayak is recommended for beginners?

Kayaking is an upper-body workout, and we recommend first-time participants buddy up in a 2-person kayak.

How long can I expect to be on the water?

Approximately 2 - 2.5 hours.

Question 3

What is included in the ticket price?

Accepted Answer

The ticket price for this event includes the following:
a. 2-hr kayak rental including paddles and life vest
b. Celebratory mimosas immediately following the excursion
c. Access to all photos and videos taken during the event 
d. A fun time on land & sea with other black and brown adventurous women.

Can I bring my own lunch for the post-event picnic on the grass?

Yes.  If you would like to order a Lunch Box, which includes a sandwich, pickle, cookies, and water, please select from the Add-On options before checking out.

What should I do if I want to attend but cannot necessarily afford the full ticket price?

Contact us. We want to make the outdoors accessible for everyone, and through donations from some of our members, scholarship opportunities may exist.

What if it rains?

We are permitted on the Lake as long as there is no thunder & lightning in the forecast, so this is technically a RAIN or SHINE event.  In the event of severe weather conditions, our rain date will be Sunday, April 2nd, same time and same place.

Question 7

Is there a way I can register for this event, and bypass the Eventbrite registration fees?

Accepted Answer

To bypass the Eventbrite fees, complete the event registration form here on Eventbrite, enter "3RDPARTYPAYEE" as the promo code, and submit. From there, proceed to CashApp to complete the payment ($CampingNoire). We will not follow up for incomplete payments, so don't hesitate to confirm receipt.
