Slow down and discover the meditative art of embroidery at Capturing Sunlight & Shadows: An Introduction to Cyanotype Printing on Saturday, June 13 from 2-4 p.m. in the Studio.
Current Hood Artist in Residence Hillary Waters Fayle will share the magic of cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic processes and the precursor to the blueprint. Students will learn about the history of cyanotypes, how this distinctive blue-and-white printing technique was developed, and its role in art, science, and design. Students will create their own unique cyanotype prints using botanical materials, exploring the interplay of sunlight, composition, and natural forms.
$10/person. Registration close June 11 or when capacity is reached. All sales are final.

About the instructor
Hillary Waters Fayle has a background in fiber/textile design and a deep fascination and respect for nature & the environment. Hillary brings together materials and processes that express the union of humanity and the physical world, most often textile traditions in collaboration with botanical material.
