Celebration of Ole Bull State Park- Potter County, PA
- A community hike to commemorate the induction of Ole Bull State Park into the Old-Growth Forest Network. -
Join us as we celebrate Old Growth Forests at Ole Bull State Park!
We will gather at Pavilion 4 for the ceremony and remarks and then hike the Beaver Haven trail which is an easy trail along Kettle Creek with some protruding roots and very small stream crossings. It offers unique views of a complex Beaver pond and a variety of habitats for wildlife viewing. Attendees are asked to wear sturdy shoes and bring their own water.
The 132-acre Ole Bull State Park lies along the Kettle Creek Valley. This area is called the Black Forest due to its once dense tree cover, mountainous terrain, and wilderness habitat. The forested areas of the park contain naturally occurring species including Eastern hemlock, white oak, sycamore, white pine, and spruce.
