**Important location information in bold below**

County Grounds Park (CGP) has been identified as a key site within the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern (AOC), a federal designation for environmentally degraded regions. Federally funded, the project specifically addresses Beneficial Use Impairments such as habitat loss and water quality issues within the Menomonee River watershed. This multi-year effort focuses on removing invasive species and restoring native ecosystems. The AOC for CGP is transitioning from planning/assessments to a management-plan. To facilitate public involvement, the AOC Community Advisory Committee hosts educational events to share updates on the restoration plan and the eventual "delisting" of the AOC.

Please join us at County Grounds Park on Saturday June 13th at 10am for a tour led by the AOC Community Advisory Committee. This is a great opportunity to

  • explore the history of the park-
  • participate in some mindfulness in nature activities
  • understand some of the identified ecological impairments
  • hear some of the evolving brainstorms on future remediation
  • provide community feedback

Tour may be off-path so wear sturdy footwear. Appropriate for all ages. Dress for the weather, there are no onsite restrooms. Registration requested for planning purposes.
