CFF: 101 Session - Introduction to Fly Fishing/On Water Instructional
Join Community Fly Fishing for a fun and welcoming gathering for beginner and new anglers!
Location: Kankakee River State Park, Rock Creek Parking Lot. Once you navigate to 5314 W State Route 102, Bourbonnais, IL 60914, you will pass the ranger station on your left. Then, you will make your first right. Follow that road to the parking lot where we will meet. There are on-site pit toilets at the parking lot.

What to Expect: This is an instructional event. CFF, will cover the basics of fly fishing:
Fly rod set up
Casting
Aquatic life cycle
Fly Selection and Entymology
Knots
Fly rod set up

What to Bring: All fly fishing equipment will be provided (Rods, Reels, Leaders, Flies) as well as waders for those who would like them. Please consider bringing the following:
Reusable water bottle
Sunscreen
Fast-drying clothing
Sunglasses, Polarized preffered
Sturdy water shoes if you would like to wet-wade
Fishing license (purchased @ https://dnr.illinois.gov/lpr/fishinglicensesfees.html)
