Color as Collage: A Color Theory Workshop
Participants will learn how artists use color within their work while challenging themselves to play and investigate new applications.
During “Color as Collage,” we invite participants from our community to handle color through a set of exercises to develop a deeper understanding of color theory and application. We will use pre-painted gouache swatches to build compositions that deal with specific palettes, color contrasts, patterns, and spatial relations. Participants will complete several collages using simple tools that can hopefully expand their own artistic practice at home.
This workshop is in association with the artists' duo exhibition at DVAA, "How to Map an Echo."
No prior knowledge needed, artists encouraged to attend and directed towards teens and adults who are interested in taking a color-intensive workshop!
