COURSE ON THE HISTORY OF REGGAETON AND BAD BUNNY PHENOMENA
Reggaeton has conquered the world in its style and with its language, let s learn why.
Reggaeton has conquered the world in its style and in its language. This course will present rap and reggaeton, not as musical genres disconnected from society that promote violence, sex, and addictions, but as artistic, musical, and literary genres that emerge as alternatives to these problems.
Furthermore, the origins of these genres are presented, closely linked to poverty and marginalization. They are shown as an escape from violence, the result of neglect and neglect of institutions. Rap becomes, then, an option in the face of a reality that offers little good news and that contains portraits of the country's marginalized communities. These portraits are presented by their protagonists in a real and direct language, with which the residents of these communities identify.
The Course aims to show the undocumented history of musical genres, specifically speaking of the Hispanic or Spanglish movement in Puerto Rico. Likewise, it seeks to contribute to the debate that rap culture has a negative influence on youth and discuss the myth that violence is a direct product of these genres.
