Rae Studios combines classes to encourage and strengthen a dancers fundamentals along with strength and flexibility training. With our variety of classes offered, we appeal to our local SF students whose goals range from gaining fitness stamina, to dancing in high-intensity cardio dance, to perfecting their dance technique. We offer 50+ classes available for both in-studio and outdoor at UN Plaza/Civic Center. Learn from instructors and choreographers from around the world.

Dance At The Plaza - FREE Outdoor Dance Classes

Rae Studios is proud to be the programming partner of the San Francisco Recreation & Parks and Civic Center Community Benefit District for the SF Fitness Court at UN Plaza; providing FREE dance & wellness for all!

Class Description:​​​​K-Pop, short for Korean popular music, is a form of music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. ​​It includes styles and genres from around the world, such as Pop, Hip Hop, R&amp;B, Experimental, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Reggae, Electronic dance, Folk, Country, Disco, and Classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. Originally known as 'Gayo' in Korea, modern K-pop "idol" culture began in the 1990s. Our KPOP instructors will either highlight other KPOP choreographers reteaching combos from various music videos or create their own choreographed influences from various styles of dance. Andy Nguyen is a San Francisco native that started his dance career when he first joined SF Funkanometry’s youth team Funksters. He then graduated from funksters, to Project M, and now currently dances with Groove Against the Machines at In the groove studios in Oakland. He always had an interest in KPOP since young and found it as inspiration for him to go make dance covers or even create his own choreography to KPOP music. He has competed for KPOP cover competitions with Allkpop and KCON 2016 (GROO7E). Now he spreads his love for KPOP by teaching it at City Dance Studios, In the Groove Studios, and now excitedly to add to the list, Rae Studios!
