Join us for a Deep Listening meditation walk at Rouge Park. We'll walk slowly along the Prairie Pathway, hear from Friends of Rouge Park about the prairie restoration, then perform Pauline Oliveros's Environmental Dialogue—a sonic meditation where participants attune to and reinforce the sounds of the environment. A prelude to frog song season. No experience necessary. All ages welcome! About Deep Listening: Deep Listening is a practice developed by composer Pauline Oliveros that cultivates attention to sound in all its dimensions. It explores the difference between hearing and listening, and invites participants to expand their awareness of the sonic environment and each other. Bio: Lindsay Karty is a certified Deep Listening facilitator, trained through the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She organizes seasonal study groups exploring sound, attention, and place.
