Downtown Newark Walking Tour-SUMMER INTERN SPECIAL
Traverse downtown Newark with experienced local guides to learn about Newark history, as well as the art, food, and architecture of today.
This Special Tour is supported by the Prudential Community Grants program. Your $5 cost will support a snack break at a local business along the way.
All are welcome, but on this tour we are expecting a large contingent of Summer Interns working in Downtown Newark (whether born and raised in Newark or coming from far away). As such, the tour will start on Halsey Street, and end at the new Newark Culture Club at the end of the walk.
Traverse downtown Newark with experienced local guides to learn about Newark history, as well as the art, food, and architecture of today.
Tour will cover early Newark history, industrial history, the Newark rebellion and include stops at Military Park, Newark Public Library, Halsey Street, and more.
If you haven't visited downtown in awhile, come back - downtown Newark is always changing. New on this tour will be the Harriet Tubman Statue in Harriet Tubman Square.
