Eating disorders are becoming increasingly better understood by our society.

Eating disorders are becoming increasingly better understood by our society. However, many are not fully aware of the prevalence, seriousness, and the range of individuals affected by this illness. The purpose of this workshop is to identify causes, signs, effects, and treatment options for eating disorders, from the perspective of individuals who are struggling as well as their loved ones and treatment providers. The presentation will include an overview of all of the eating disorders, including ARFID and BED, highlighting an overview of the diagnostic criteria to understand the differences, the etiology of eating disorders, including neurobiological advancements in the field, screening, and how to approach the need for ED treatment, particularly among specific populations such as folks with ED and SUD.
