El Momento: A PRIIN x ALPFA Puerto Rico Diaspora Summit
A diaspora summit bringing together talent, capital, and community to act on Puerto Rico's most important economic moment in a generation...
ENGLISH
Puerto Rico is at an inflection point. Diaspora engagement is rising. Cultural visibility is at a record high. Institutional interest is growing. And for the first time, the professional networks, capital pathways, and ecosystem infrastructure are in place to receive that energy at scale.
El Momento is a call to coordinated action. Co-hosted by PRIIN and ALPFA Puerto Rico, this hybrid summit brings together impact investors, diaspora professionals, founders, and ecosystem partners to move beyond conversation and into coordination. The agenda is built around a single organizing principle: Time, Treasure, and Talent. Three resources the Puerto Rican diaspora already holds. Three things the island's economy needs right now.
The program features keynotes, fireside conversations, and sector spotlights. Together, these sessions will map the current state of impact investing in Puerto Rico, showcase island-based founders and initiatives seeking diaspora support, and introduce both organizations' roadmaps for sustained long-term engagement. Sessions will cover where the capital gaps are, what coordinated ecosystem development looks like in practice, and how diaspora professionals can plug in through mentorship, advisory roles, investment, and direct project collaboration.
You do not need to be a traditional investor to belong in this room. If you have expertise, networks, time, or capital to contribute to Puerto Rico's future, this summit was built with you in mind.
The full program will be livestreamed for virtual attendees. Virtual Access costs $10, while the In-Person Summit ticket costs $50.

El Momento: Why This Moment Matters Now
This opening sets the emotional and strategic context for the summit. El Momento is not a branding exercise but a real inflection point: a convergence of cultural visibility, diaspora readiness, and institutional infrastructure. This moment is different because, for the first time, professional networks, capital pathways, and partnership structures exist to receive diaspora engagement at scale. The call is no longer symbolic. There is finally a credible place for people, capital, and expertise to land.
The Rising Tide of Impact Investment, A Look at Our History and Our Trajectory
With more than four decades in investment management consulting and financial advisory, Myrna M. Rivera Cardona has helped shape the institutional investment practices used by foundations, endowments, pension funds, and families across Puerto Rico and beyond. As founder of the first locally owned independent asset management advisory firm on the island, she brings a rare long-view perspective on impact investing, capital stewardship, and locally rooted economic development. In conversation with David Geeter Alvarez, Myrna reflects on the history of impact investment in Puerto Rico, the foundations already built on the island, and the growing opportunity to align diaspora engagement, institutional capital, and long-term community impact. Together they explore why this moment matters and what it will take to turn momentum into lasting transformation.
