Join TNC Virginia for a fun day of exploration and education at Fernbrook Preserve and help kick off <a href="https://www.citynaturechallenge.org/" title="https://www.citynaturechallenge.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">City Nature Challenge 2026</a>! The City Nature Challenge is a friendly four-day competition between cities (and rural areas) all over the world to see which one can observe the most nature. Make observations using the iNaturalist app from April 24-27 2026 to participate. Follow the <a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-charlottesville-region" title="https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-charlottesville-region" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Charlottesville Region project </a>and help make this year a success!A bioblitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area within a given period of time. If you're new to species identification and want to learn more, we encourage you to attend! All skill levels are welcome.We will be using the iNaturalist app for our documentation and identification. Create an iNaturalist account (<a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/signup" title="https://www.inaturalist.org/signup" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">click here to sign up</a>), and download the app on your smartphone prior to the event.
