Free Days at the Plains Conservation Center
Join us for an educational adventure to learn about the natural and cultural history of the shortgrass prairie.
The Plains Conservation Center is a nature preserve and educational center ecompassing 1100 acres of shortgrass prairie. Come for a visit to learn about prairie wildlife and cultural history at our 1880's replica homestead village and Native American tipi camp.
Each free day has a diffferent educational theme.
January 15- Wildlife Tracking. Presentation by HawkQuest at 11 a.m.
February 19- Backyard Birds. Presentation by HawkQuest at 11 a.m.
March 21- Pioneers
June 11- Pollinators
July 11- Summer Celebrations
August 20 - Agriculture
November 14- Indigenous People's
December 17- Holiday's
Come any time during the scheduled event.
Free days are presented in collaboration with the Denver Botanic Gardens and City of Aurora.
