Overview

FRIEND Wildland Firefighter STEM Camp with TVF&R & Local 1660: hands-on training, lifesaving skills, and career pathways.

Take your training to the next level with our Wildland Firefighter STEM Camp, designed exclusively for youth who participated in our previous camps in Portland (Year 1) and Gresham (Year 2). This advanced, hands-on experience builds on the skills and knowledge gained in earlier programs, introducing participants to the dynamic and critical world of wildland firefighting.

Campers will explore real-world wildfire response techniques, fire behavior, and team-based problem solving through interactive STEM-based training led by experienced firefighters and professionals. This is an opportunity to deepen skills, strengthen confidence, and continue the journey toward careers in fire service and emergency response.

As part of the program, participants will also receive a refresher in Hands-Only CPR, reinforcing life-saving skills that are essential both on and off the fireline.

This camp is more than training—it’s about leadership, teamwork, and preparing the next generation to serve their communities in high-impact ways.
