Garden Stewards Volunteer Day for California Invasive Species Action Week
Join to remove invasive weeds and make space for native plants to thrive! #volunteer
California Invasive Species Action Week (CISAW) is a statewide, week-long event created to increase public awareness of invasive species in our state and to promote public participation year round in invasive species management. Together we can protect California's natural resources!
Meet us at the Oak Grove Amphitheater behind the Visitor Center at 10am to learn more about habitat restoration in the Elkhorn Slough Watershed and to join us for a hands-on stewardship project to remove invasive grasses, radish, and mustard. Tools, gloves, and assistance with plant identification will be provided! Please prepare adequately for the possibility of exposure to biting insects and poison oak. We recommend bringing:
- Water
- Snack
- Sunscreen
- Bugspray
- Weather and gardening appropriate attire
Thank you for helping support biodiversity at Elkhorn Slough Reserve! You’re welcome to stay for a picnic lunch or a hike on our trails following the volunteer event!
