Where does garlic mustard come from, how did it get here?

Garlic mustard is native to Europe and parts of western Asia. It was brought to North America in the 1800s by European settlers for food and medicinal use. Without its natural predators and diseases here, it spread rapidly through forests, roadsides, and river corridors

How accessible is the space?

Accepted Answer

This trail  is accessible via hike one must walk down some old rock trails down into the flood plain. There may be mud or slippery conditions in a few places as the soil is largely clay.  Expect a 2-3  mile hike in total

What sort of shelter or facilities will be available?

Accepted Answer

This event is 100% outdoors with no indoor facilities  available. There will be at the trailhead.

How should a volunteer dress and prepare?

Accepted Answer

Volunteers should dress for working outside in potentially warm or rainy even  temperatures. Dress in layers. Don't wear anything you wouldnt want getting dirty. We always recommend pants, boots and long sleeves in case of bugs.

What does the work entail?

This workday will involve bending over to remove garlic mustard. We might employ some tools as well.
