Getting People Onboard: Engagement Strategies for Tech & Policy Transitions

Getting People Onboard: Engagement Strategies for Tech & Policy Transitions

Online event
Overview

Human-centered approaches to change that bring impacted staff along through technology and policy rollouts.

Public-facing staff are the first to feel the friction when new technology or policy changes roll out, yet they are often the last to be consulted. The result? Workarounds, resistance, and slower adoption that could have been avoided. This is especially true in the age of AI.

This workshop is designed to address that dynamic by equipping managers, or anyone who might be leading a process that requires these types of changes, with structured, Human Centered Design-informed engagement tactics that help bring staff onboard through the change process.

During this session we'll draw on real case studies from our work with the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), the City of Berkeley Public Library, and others, where we navigated exactly these challenges alongside our partners.

What You’ll Get with this Session:

  • Case study insights on how to effectively lead new technology and policy rollouts
  • Ready-to-use engagement templates you can adapt for your own transition projects
  • Opportunity to learn from your peers through guest speakers and group discussion
  • An invitation to a free 30-mins consultation session with CivicMakers to apply what you've learned to your specific context (limited slots available!)
