Overview

Catch a glimpse of iconic grassland birds and learn how our farmlands and open fields provide important breeding habitat for these birds .

Chestnut Hill Farm is a Trustees property in Southborough which offers a wonderful environment of farm fields and a grassland area as well as some forest paths. They regularly get Bobolinks, Indigo Buntings, Swallows, Savannah Sparrows and Kestrels — with many other possibilities. These grassland nesting birds require open fields for nesting.
Did you know Bobolinks have an impressive yearly migration of up to 12,500 miles from South to North America and back again?

Meet at the parking lot on Chestnut Hill Road at 6:30 AM
