Bryce Lane is back at PFGC to talk to you about new, unique, and classic plant combinations for the landscape!

Education Series

From seed starting to pruning, birding and native plants, we are thrilled to welcome you back to our in-person education series.

Seats for this event are full; however, we won't turn you away. If you are interested in attending this event, simply check in with us when you arrive at the event and we will have standing room available and fill un-filled seats after all registered attendees are checked in.

One of the greatest challenges we face is choosing plants to combine in the garden. New plant introductions are flooding the market! There is a new plant introduced every minute. How do we use it in the landscape? What other time-tested plants might we use it with? This talk will focus on recommending some new, unique, and classic plant combinations for the landscape.After the talk, you will have the opportunity to shop for these featured plants, take them home, and plant them while the inspiration is fresh in your mind!

<h1>Meet Bryce Lane
</h1>Bryce discovered his passion for plants and telling others about them while working at a small Massachusetts garden center throughout high school and college. After earning his BS and MS in Horticulture, he came to the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State University as an Instructor and Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator. He spent thirty-four years teaching and advising over 20,000 students. Although Bryce retired in 2014 he still teaches part-time at NC State. For eleven seasons he hosted and produced the three-time, Emmy winning, UNC TV public television show “In the Garden With Bryce Lane.” 

He now spends his time giving horticulture talks, leadership and communication training, and teaching part-time at NC State and the JC Raulston Arboretum. He has also worked closely with North Carolina Extension and the NC Nursery and Landscape Association for many years. Bryce is now featured as the host of Logan’s Garden Shop Podcast.

As an avid gardener in his spare time, Bryce has creatively cultivated the same one quarter acre plot for thirty-six years. He and his wife of forty-two years also enjoy spending time growing and making memories with their six grandchildren!
