Guided Bird Walk: 2026 Loons & Lakes Festival
Join a guided bird walk at Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area as part of the third annual Loons & Lakes Festival!
The Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society will guide special bird walks on Friday June 26th for the MN Loons & Lakes Festival! These 1-hour walks take place at 8am and 9am at Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area. This is a special opportunity to view loons without getting on the water!
Spend some time off the lake to walk the leisurely trails around the wetlands and view all the birds that enjoy this quiet location. Binoculars may be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own or a camera.
About Uppgaard WMA (via Explore Minnesota):
The 110 acres of gently rolling woods and wetlands of the Uppgaard Wildlife Management area offer great habitat for white-tailed deer, western painted turtles, ruffed grouse, blue heron, broad-winged hawks, and summer butterflies. There is a mixture of coniferous and deciduous forest, two small lakes, meadow, and marshland.
About the BLAAS:
The Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society is open to people young and old, novice and expert. Our chapter is about getting out, having fun and learning about the environment.
