Estes Park Events ComplexEstes Park, CO
Overview

Join us for a summer hike to a wonderful viewpoint in Rocky Mountain National Park!

Join us for a hike to the summit of Deer Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park! This invigorating adventure takes us through peaceful woodlands, with scenic overlooks along the way and rewarding panoramic views at the top. This guided hike offers a supportive and inspiring environment to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the summer.

Distance: 6 miles

Starting Elevation: 8,930 feet

Elevation gain and loss: 1,300 feet

Level: Moderate - These programs are most appropriate for those with some hiking experience. Participants should be comfortable navigating both maintained trails and unmaintained meadows or grassy areas. Prior experience hiking or walking above 8,000 feet is recommended. This program is open to participants ages 16 and up.

Please note these hikes are meant to be an inclusive and fun way to get outside! We will be hiking at a pace that is comfortable for a large group. Everyone should feel like they can chat on the trail! This typically means a 1-1.5 mile per hour pace on the way up and a 1.5-2 mile per hour pace on the way down. The focus of these hikes is community building and connection and we intentionally move at a moderate pace.

The Conservancy provides transportation to and from the trailhead. Registration includes all Park fees and permits.

Who: This program is intended for anyone ages 16 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

When: Thursday, June 25th from 8:00am - 2:30pm. Ending time is approximate depending on traffic in the park and pace of the group. Please leave yourself some free time after the hike in case we get back later than expected.

Meeting Location: We will meet at the Estes Park Events Complex (1125 Rooftop Way, Estes Park, CO) and travel to the trailhead together in Conservancy vehicles. Look for a white van with Rocky Mountain Conservancy Logos in the parking lot.
