Guided Nature Journaling

Guided Nature Journaling

Overview

Discover the outdoors through nature journaling as we explore, observe, and reflect together.

Join us and Maine Master Naturalist Laura Lewis, as we explore, observe, and reflect through the practice of nature journaling. Nature journaling is a great way to deepen our connection to the outdoors by encouraging curiosity, mindfulness, and close observation of the natural world.

We will begin indoors with an introduction to nature journaling techniques, including ways to record observations through writing, sketching, questions, measurements, and personal reflections.

After our introduction, we'll head out onto the trails to practice our skills and spend time observing the plants, animals, and seasonal changes around us. While we'll discuss a variety of methods, there is no single "right" way to keep a nature journal, each person's journal is a unique reflection of their own interests, experiences, and observations.

Participants are encouraged to bring plain white paper or a journal of their choice, along with any pencils, pens, colored pencils, or markers they would like to use.

All ages and experience levels are welcome.
