Guided Walk: Springtime into Summer in the Forest at Ivy Creek
Enjoy a Springtime into Summer walk in the forest with a talk on the area's trees and to look for late flowers and the resulting fruits.
Join Charlottesville Area Tree Steward David Marrs for an informational and enjoyable springtime into summer walk in the forest at the beautiful Ivy Creek Natural Area.
David will begin our walk with a conversation about trees and landscapes transitioning from Spring to Summer. He will concentrate on leaves and look for late flowers and the resulting fruits. David will talk about why trees are growing where they are and provide the best ways to ID the most common trees.
This will be an easy to moderate walk on established trails that are well maintained with some inclines and declines. Our walk will be in the open and in wooded areas so we recommend that you wear sturdy shoes, long pants, a hat, sun protection and bring water.
Please meet at the Ivy Creek Natural Area kiosk as you go from the parking lot towards the barn. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
This walk is free, but donations are always appreciated. Thanks!
