This collection contains our classes relating to the art of pottery and clay craft. We have classes for all skill levels from beginner to advanced!

Learn fundamental handbuilding techniques while making beautiful, functional pieces for your table. This project-based class will explore slab-built pottery with easy-to-use templates. A great class for beginners and more seasoned potters looking to expand their handbuilding skills.Week 1: PlatesWeek 2: TumblersWeek 3: Salt and Pepper ShakersWeek 4: Butter dishWeek 5: Cream and sugar setWeek 6: CandlesticksWeek 7: Casserole dishWeek 8: Glaze all projects Join MakerSpace instructor, Kelly Long, as she guides you through the step-by-step process of making these forms and shows you how to customize them with texture and embellishments. No pottery experience necessary.

Refund Policy:<ul><li>Transfers to another class follow the same refund rules as your original date.</li><li>14+ days before the first class: Full refund.</li><li>7–13 days before the first class: Refund minus a 50% administrative fee.</li><li>Fewer than 7 days before the first class: No refunds.</li><li>Seat transfer: If you find a replacement who pays for and takes your seat before the first class begins, you are eligible for a full refund.</li></ul>To cancel or request a transfer, please email steve@makerspacecharlotte.org. Class may be canceled due to low enrollment in which case a full refund will be issued. Cancellation Policy:MakerSpace reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment. If a class is canceled by MakerSpace, fees are 100% refundable.

About the Instructor Kelly Long Kelly has been making pottery for the past 15 years. Her work is handbuilt and glazed using terra sigillata with a patina finish to enhance the textures she stamps into her clay. Kelly has taught handbuilding classes at Clayworks and throughout the Charlotte community. As much as she enjoys making pottery, she loves teaching it even more. It makes her feel like a proud mom whenever her students create something they are excited about.
