A salon-style events series curated by Cactus Store and Nonhuman Teachers, HORT/CULTURE is an act of interdisciplinary cross-pollination that brings together the diverse artists, thinkers and nonhuman lifeforms that make our wondrous world wonderful.

Please join us in the West Room of Nine Orchard for a spectacular human safari as we celebrate Gotham's most successful mammal, Homo sapiens.We are honored to be joined by two of New York's finest specimens, filmmaker John Wilson and musician Molly Lewis as we explore some of the more idiosyncratic behaviors of our strange species with an evening of screenings and a special performance. -- John Wilson is a filmmaker best known for documenting the strange habits of humans of his fellow New Yorkers in the <a href="https://www.hbo.com/how-to-with-john-wilson" title="https://www.hbo.com/how-to-with-john-wilson" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">acclaimed HBO series</a> How To with John Wilson. He is the director of a number of <a href="https://johnsmovies.com" title="https://johnsmovies.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">other short films</a> including Temporary Color, Escape from Park City, and The Road to Magnasanti. Molly Lewis is a <a href="https://jagjaguwar.com/artist/mollylewis/" title="https://jagjaguwar.com/artist/mollylewis/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">recording artist</a> and world-champion whistler based between New York and Los Angeles.
