The Hutchinson River Restoration Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term protection and restoration of the Hutchinson River. We are committed to working with local communities, politicians, and other environmental organizations to ensure that the river is restored to a healthy habitat.Our mission is to restore and enhance the health of the Hutchinson River for current and future generations. We strive to reduce pollution, improve the river's water quality, and protect its wildlife and habitats. By working together, we believe we can create a healthier and more vibrant river for all to enjoy.

Now that you’ve learned about the history of Split Rock, we invite you to take the next step and celebrate World Water Day through hands-on stewardship. Join us as we remove harmful invasive plants and collect trash along this beautiful stretch of the Hutchinson River—an area that powerfully demonstrates how natural landscapes and urban environments can exist side by side.Split Rock is not only rich in history, but also an important ecological space that supports local wildlife and contributes to the overall health of the river. By targeting invasive species and removing debris, volunteers help restore native habitats, improve water quality, and protect the river from further pollution.​This World Water Day, come be part of a collective effort to care for our shared waterways. Together, we can honor the Hutchinson River’s past, protect its present, and help ensure a healthier, more resilient future for the river and the communities that surround it.What to Bring:BootsLong-sleeve shirt &amp; JacketHatGlovesLet’s work together to restore the river—see you there!Please note that this event has Age limits:12+ with adult14+ without adult~Street parking is available.~BX23 &amp; 0045 and a few other buses stop within a 10-20 minute walk to the location.~We will provide gloves, grabbers, trash bags, and anything else required for invasive removal and trash collection as well as water and a light snack.~Please purchase a ticket for everyone in your group so we have an accurate headcount.~By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to our <a href="https://bit.ly/HRRPWaiver" title="https://bit.ly/HRRPWaiver" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Waiver</a>.
