HRRP's New Canoe Cleanup Initiative

The Hutchinson River Restoration Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term protection and restoration of the Hutchinson River. We are committed to working with local communities, politicians, and other environmental organizations to ensure that the river is restored to a healthy habitat.Our mission is to restore and enhance the health of the Hutchinson River for current and future generations. We strive to reduce pollution, improve the river's water quality, and protect its wildlife and habitats. By working together, we believe we can create a healthier and more vibrant river for all to enjoy.

<h3>HRRP Launches New Canoe Cleanup Initiative</h3>​ Thanks to a generous grant from Citizens NYC, HRRP is excited to launch our very first Canoe Cleanup on Wednesday, June 12th, in celebration of City of Water Day.The event will run from 9 AM to 1 PM, and the launch site will be announced soon. We’ll be paddling into the mud flats and reeds of the Hutchinson River to collect garbage directly from the water. This is a boat-only cleanup, and we’ll be staying in the canoes the entire time.​Participants should bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. We strongly recommend wearing long sleeves, pants, and shoes that can get wet—you will absolutely get wet on this trip.​​ Join us as we take our river stewardship to the water!
