It Takes a Village: Building Your Maternal & Family Support Network

Ancient Song is a national birth justice organization working to eliminate maternal and infant mortality and morbidity among low-income Black and Latinx people. We do this by ensuring that all pregnant, postpartum, and parenting people of color have access to high-quality, holistic doula care and services regardless of their ability to pay. We provide doula training and services, offer community education, and advocate for policy change to support reproductive and birth justice.

The Birth Justice Institute is hosting community outreach events, policy, advocacy sessions, and empowering education workshops!

Join us for an informative and community-centered workshop focused on the importance of building a strong support system during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.It Takes a Village highlights the vital role that doulas, midwives, family, and community networks play in supporting maternal health and well-being. No one should have to navigate this journey alone.In this session, we will explore:<ul><li>The roles of doulas, midwives, and other support providers</li><li>How to build your personal and family support network</li><li>The importance of community care in maternal health outcomes</li><li>How to access trusted local resources and support services</li><li>Ways to involve partners, family, and loved ones in your care</li></ul>Participants will receive a curated list of local doulas, midwives, and community organizations to help you begin building your village.✨ Come connect, learn, and leave with real resources and support.
