June 13th Morning HRRP EcoTour

Come aboard the Hutchinson River Restoration Project’s EcoTour and explore the rich history and ecology of the Hutchinson River. Participants will travel along the river while learning about the wildlife, marshes, and natural habitats that continue to survive within this urban environment.

The tour also offers a firsthand look at how industry and development interact with the natural ecosystem of the river. From active industrial sites and transportation infrastructure to restored marshlands and wildlife habitats, guests will gain a deeper understanding of both the environmental challenges facing the river and the ongoing efforts to protect and restore it.

This unique experience is a great opportunity for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, students, and community members to connect with the Hutchinson River and learn more about one of New York City’s overlooked waterways.

• Bring: Water, snacks, and a jacket (it’s cooler on the water).
• Parking: Free street parking.
• Direction Details: City Island Marina, 521 City Island Avenue, gate directly across from Archie’s to the left of Jack’s Bait and Tackle Parking Lot. Someone will be waiting by the gate to take you to the boat. Bx29 bus stops at Jack’s Bait & Tackle. You can contact, if needed,

• Tour ends: Around Noon (includes extra time for any delays).
• Arrival: Be on time — it’s a short walk to the boat and we leave promptly at 9 am, so please arrive early.
